Traveling With a Pet in Paris: Confirm the Ride First
A pet-friendly label from another service does not confirm your ride. Share the animal’s size, carrier setup, cleaning needs and assistance status first.

A ride with a pet is not confirmed merely because a pet category once existed on another platform. Before leaving a Paris airport, tell the operator what animal is traveling, how it will be contained and whether the request concerns an assistance animal. Acceptance must apply to the actual ride, not to an old category name.
An old pet category is context, not confirmation
A category label is specific to the company, place and period in which it appears. A screenshot, saved article or recollection of that label cannot confirm that another service accepts animals. It also cannot show whether the individual vehicle assigned to a journey is suitable.
For a trip from an airport, railway station or hotel, seek an explicit answer tied to the journey being planned. If the answer is conditional, identify the condition before moving to the pickup point.
Describe the animal, not just “a pet”
The word “pet” leaves the operator without information needed to assess the request. State the species, approximate size and whether the animal will remain inside a closed carrier. For a dog traveling without a carrier, explain how it will be restrained and kept away from the driver.
Carrier details matter because a rigid crate, a soft-sided bag and an uncontained animal create different space and handling requirements. Share the carrier’s dimensions alongside the luggage description. A carrier that fits in a hotel room or train compartment does not automatically fit beside suitcases in the vehicle under consideration.
Do not describe the animal as “small” and leave the interpretation to someone else. A clear message might say that the animal travels in a closed carrier, that the carrier must stay upright and that additional luggage will accompany it. This is not a booking guarantee; it is enough detail for the operator to give an informed response.
Agree on seating and cleaning before pickup
Ask where the carrier or restrained animal may be placed. Do not assume that a carrier can go on a seat, that a loose animal can travel in the passenger area or that protective bedding will be accepted. The operator’s answer should determine how you prepare for the ride.
Bring a clean towel or absorbent liner, waste bags and any item normally used to manage the animal safely. Tell the operator about shedding, wet fur or a recent accident before boarding rather than leaving the issue for the driver to discover. If cleaning would be needed, ask how the operator wants the situation handled.
Consider a hypothetical arrival after rain: a dog has crossed a wet relief area outside the terminal before pickup. Drying its paws before approaching the vehicle and using a clean liner addresses a foreseeable mess, but it does not replace permission to carry the dog. Cleanliness and acceptance are separate questions.
Identify an assistance animal separately
If the animal provides assistance, state that clearly instead of submitting an ordinary pet request. Ask the operator which information is needed for the journey and describe any practical space requirement, such as the need for the animal to remain on the floor beside its handler.
Avoid assuming that a historical pet option defines the treatment of an assistance animal. The relevant question is how the operator will handle the specific request. Keep the response accessible offline so that the traveler can show what was agreed if mobile service is unreliable at arrivals.
Build the airport handoff around the answer
Wait for a clear response before directing the traveler to a vehicle. The request should match the animal, carrier, passengers and baggage that actually arrive. If any of those details changes, repeat the question rather than treating the earlier answer as transferable.
Use the ONNN journey planner to organize the intended route, without treating the plan as proof of pet acceptance, a confirmed booking or a quoted price. Before walking to the airport pickup area, verify the animal description, carrier or restraint method, baggage load, cleaning plan, assistance status, operator acceptance and a contact method that works on arrival.
