For a current journey, make the decision from the live booking screen. Check the category label, the operating identity displayed in the terms or confirmation, the fare information and the status of the request before leaving the terminal.

“Taxi” is the category, not the app

A category label tells you which option you are considering inside an app. It does not rename the app, identify every company involved or confirm that a vehicle has been assigned. This distinction matters when comparing results, asking airport staff for help or locating the correct pickup arrangement.

Apply the same reading method to any app. Record the app name and then read the selected category exactly as displayed. Do not infer that every option shown on the same screen follows identical fare rules, pickup procedures or operating terms.

Identify who is providing the ride

Several names can appear during one app-based journey. One identifies the app through which the request is made. Another identifies the category. The confirmation, contractual information or receipt can identify the entity connected with the transaction, while the assigned vehicle and driver information identify the ride you are preparing to meet.

Before confirming, look for an operator or provider name in the booking summary and applicable terms. After assignment, compare the vehicle and driver details shown on the screen with the arriving car. If those details do not match, do not use the app name alone as evidence that it is the correct ride.

This check is especially useful at an airport curb, where taxis, prearranged vehicles and private cars occupy nearby areas. A driver mentioning a familiar app does not replace the matching information in your own booking record.

Read the fare and terms on the live screen

A historical launch page is not a current tariff sheet. It should not be used to predict today’s fare, payment conditions, cancellation terms, airport access arrangements or category availability. Those points need to be read from the live offer and the terms attached to the journey under consideration.

Review what the screen labels as an estimate, a quoted amount or another fare presentation. Check what is included, which payment method is selected and what the cancellation information says before submitting the request. Save the relevant booking summary if you need an offline record after leaving airport Wi-Fi.

For a hypothetical comparison between two app results, use the same destination and assess the wording rather than comparing app names alone. If one result says Taxi and another uses a different category label, they are not automatically equivalent products even when both lead toward the same address.

A request is not a confirmed pickup

Submitting a request and receiving a confirmed assignment are different stages. Treat the ride as booked only when the app explicitly displays confirmation and the information needed to identify the assigned pickup. A searching, pending or unavailable screen does not establish that a vehicle is on its way.

Keep the app open long enough to read status changes. Confirm the pickup area, then check the assigned vehicle and driver details before walking away from the terminal. If the app changes or withdraws the assignment, use the latest displayed status rather than an earlier notification or screenshot.

The pickup instruction also deserves a separate check. An airport name alone is not a meeting point. Use the terminal, door, zone or other location detail shown for the active journey, and follow official airport signs when the app directs you to a designated area.

Use an airport arrival checklist

Before requesting a ride, confirm the airport and terminal, enter the complete destination and verify that the selected option is labeled Taxi if that is the category you intend to use. Read the current fare presentation, payment method and cancellation terms. After submitting, wait for explicit confirmation; then match the pickup location, vehicle and driver details before boarding.

Keep the confirmation accessible without relying on a continuous connection, and retain the receipt or journey record supplied through the transaction. For planning the route beyond the terminal, use the ONNN journey planner to organize the airport, destination and onward itinerary without treating the plan as a booking confirmation or quoted price.
