Orly Airport Arrivals: Prepare Your Onward Journey
Use the correct ORY airport code, verify the live flight terminal, agree on a precise meeting point and choose an onward connection that fits your route.

Check the operating flight before choosing an exit
Start with the operating carrier, flight identifier and live arrival status. When a reservation displays both a marketing carrier and an operating carrier, search using the operating flight details. Compare the airline’s current information with the airport display after landing.
Record the terminal only after that check. A terminal copied into a message days earlier should not control where a driver, friend or relative waits. If the live information differs from the saved itinerary, send the updated terminal before walking toward baggage reclaim or an exit.
Keep a screenshot of the latest status, but continue reading airport displays. The screenshot preserves the information you used; it does not replace later operational updates. If members of the group arrive on separate flights, track each operating flight independently instead of assigning everyone the same meeting area.
Define a meeting point that survives a terminal change
“Meet me at Orly” is not a usable instruction. A meeting message should contain ORY, the current terminal, the area after baggage collection, a visible fixed feature and the level shown on the current terminal map. Use identifiers displayed by the airport rather than an informal description such as “near the main doors.”
Agree on what happens if the terminal changes. The arriving passenger should send a short update only after confirming the new location on an airport display. The person waiting should acknowledge that update before moving. This prevents parallel movements in which each person walks toward the other’s former position.
Set a communication fallback as well. Save the other person’s full international telephone number and decide whether the arriving passenger will call, send a message or remain at the agreed landmark. Free airport connectivity, roaming access and battery level should not be treated as interchangeable guarantees.
Match the connection to the destination after Orly
Choose the onward arrangement from the complete destination, not from the word “Paris.” A hotel street address requires a different handoff from a railway station, and a regional itinerary needs the exact town or station rather than “Normandy” or “Pays de la Loire.” Save the destination in its original written form so it can be shown without relying on pronunciation.
For a Paris stay, compare the live public-transport route with any road-transfer arrangement using the same endpoint. Include luggage, changes, walking between platforms and accommodation access in the decision. A route that looks simple on a map can still be unsuitable when the final entrance has not been identified.
For Reims or a journey farther into Normandy or the Pays de la Loire, separate the airport connection from the onward rail or road leg. Record the departure station, train operator, current departure information and the margin allowed between arrangements. Do not describe separate tickets or transfers as a single protected journey unless the provider’s terms explicitly establish that protection.
If considering a taxi queue, an arranged vehicle or another road transfer, compare the complete written conditions rather than the label attached to the service. Confirm the pickup area, destination, luggage requirements, contact method and procedure for a flight delay before committing.
Use the airport guide as background, not live operations
Verify the current meeting landmark, disruption status, timetable and journey price with the operating carrier, airport and transport provider. Check these arrangements for the actual travel date.
Complete the handoff before leaving arrivals
Airport arrival checklist: confirm that ORY appears on the operating flight; recheck the live terminal after landing; save the full destination address; send the terminal and exact meeting landmark to the person waiting; agree on a communication fallback; verify the current route, service status and transfer conditions; and keep onward tickets or pickup instructions accessible offline.
You can use the ONNN journey planner to describe the airport, destination and passenger requirements, without treating the request as a confirmed booking or fixed price.
